About Jim Kidder
Jim Kidder has given extraordinary service to the Reno Jazz Orchestra over decades as a board member, donor and audience member.
In 2011 he provided the inspiration, scholarship, creativity and financial support behind the Reno performances of "Such Sweet Thunder", spending hours listening to the recording, researching and paying for research at the Smithsonian and for painstaking re-construction of the score by Hans Halt.
The performances of the finished work on the rooftop of the museum and at Sand Harbor are legendary, and, as the RJO prepares to leave the Good Luck Macbeth Theater, on Saturday November 11, 2023 the RJO is going to take the opportunity to revisit "Such Sweet Thunder", and to thank Jim for a lifetime of service.
Jim's contributions to life in the Truckee Meadows extend to many organizations, to hundreds of blood donations, and attendance at thousands of musical, theatrical and sporting events. Supporting Jim, Mary Ann Kidder is Jim's lifelong partner and has made her own myriad contributions.
