Nichole Heglund began teaching music in Reno, Nevada in 2003 where she taught and inspired youth band and choirs. She is the former K–12 Music Instructional Coach for the Washoe County School District. Her ensembles have consistently received superior scores and have been honored with several spotlight performances including the 2011 Nevada Music Educators Conference, the Northern Nevada Band Festival and the 2019 Reno Jazz Festival Awards Concert. She became the Education Director for the Reno Jazz Orchestra in 2019 where she continues to share her knowledge and passion for the business. She is a guest conductor, active clinician and adjudicator who received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Nevada, Reno.
