Jazz Alive
We aimed to capture the energy of a live show, and John Ascuaga's Nugget's Celebrity Showroom, where I started my Reno music career in 1979, was the ideal venue. This recording features the talented Reno Jazz Orchestra and celebrates our vibrant local jazz community, including special guests Cami Thompson, Tony Savage, Larry Engstrom, Peter Epstein, Leonard Neidhold, and Ron Legg, all of whom have deep ties to Reno. It was an honor to bring together such talent, including young musicians from the Reno Youth Jazz Orchestra who also recorded on the Nugget stage, making these performances truly treasured moments and proof that jazz thrives in Reno. -
