Since the inception of the Reno Jazz Orchestra in 1997, Candy and I have participated in the growth and journey of the RJO. We are truly delighted to share our passion and commitment by offering a $10,000 challenge. Every dollar you give will be matched by us, up to $10,000 - so your generosity will have twice the impact!
Music has always been at the heart of my life, and the RJO has always been a part of that life.
Playing and conducting the orchestra has been such a thrill for me. With your support, you can join us and help spread that joy to new audiences through our performances and our education programs.
Jazz is a uniquely American art form the world has embraced. We are passionate about passing this tradition to students, so they can discover the magic of jazz, and maybe even join the RJO family one day.
There are many challenges keeping this American art form vibrant. Technology offers an unlimited palate of music, but nothing can replace the joy and energy of live music, whether you are playing or listening. Our children deserve the chance to play music - not just stream it. Learning to play music is a gift from one generation to the next and is a vital part of our mission.
The RJO has always been a professional organization that values and supports our talented musicians. We want to attract the highest level of musicianship and keep them a part of our community. Thanks to donations and community support, we've been able to do just that and also bring national artists who may never have come without that support.

About the Reno Jazz Orchestra
The Reno Jazz Orchestra has been based in Northern Nevada for over 25 years and was formed by musicians who performed and traveled the world with acts such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Elvis Presley, Natalie Cole, Luciano Pavarotti and other legendary performers. The tradition of jazz excellence set by the founders continues today with jazz professors, educators and graduates from the University of Nevada, Reno, jazz studies program setting new performance standards.
